Welcome to Ladd Elementary School!

We are a military-friendly school! We want to help make your transition in our school as smooth as possible!  Sixty-four percent (64%) of the Ladd Elementary student body consists of military-connected students! We have Ladd families that are serving on active-duty at Eielson AFB and Fort Wainwright, Guard, Reserves, DoD/Civil Service, and AAFES personnel.

Through generous donation from Eielson Air Force Base, Ladd facilitates Anchored for Life (A4L), a peer-to-peer club to connect youth while building change and resiliency skills. Learn more about A4L here.

How to Enroll at Ladd Elementary School

All enrollment is done online at k12northstar.org/enroll. Once you register your child online, you have 30 days to provide the documentation listed below. You will need:

  • Your student's birth certificate
  • Proof of residency
  • Shot Records

After you register online, Mrs. Westerholm (the attendance secretary), will call you to confirm your enrollment and talk about the next steps within two business days. If you would like to call her to check in faster, or if you have questions about your online registration, feel free to call the front office at (907) 451-1700 and choose option "0."

Once you student is fully enrolled, we will work with you to set your student's start date. On the start date we ask that you report with your student at 9 AM so that our Anchored for Life (a peer to peer club for kids- learn more here) student crew members can introduce themselves to your student and give your student a tour of the school. You will also meet the school military family life counselor who will give you additional information about the no-cost services that she offers!

School starts at 9:15 AM, so the student crew members will help your student make it to class and introduce your student to the two crew members that are in their class as each classroom at Ladd has two student crew members. This will help your student to know that he/she has two for sure friends on the first day of school! 

School Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC)

The Department of Defense has provided a Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) at Ladd Elementary. The School MFLC provides brief, solution-focused, non-medical counseling to active military and their families.

  • The School MFLC is a licensed clinician.
  • Interactions with your teen and/or family are kept in the strictest confidence.
  • No records are kept.
  • If you are interested in learning more about the program, call the School MFLC directly at (907) 201-0319.

A Parent/Legal Guardian Acknowledgement And Consent Letter For Child And Youth Behavioral Military And Family Life Counseling Services must be signed prior to the School MFLC working with any child directly. The acknowledgement can be printed off or be available from the School MFLC. Signing this acknowledgement signifies that the parent has read the information regarding the services that the School MFLC provides and gives permission to interact with their child should a need arise for support.
